Nashville close to Creed's heart

Creed frontman Scott Stapp said Nashville has always been close to his heart, and the hearts of his bandmates. That affection led to Creed's decision to preview their new tour on Monday, July 26 at Nashville's Hard Rock Caf and donate the proceeds to local flood victims.

While the venue is smaller than the arenas Creed has played in the past, the singer said the band still plans to deliver a massive rock show in the more intimate environment.

In the days leading up to the tour, Stapp was enjoying the time he had left at home with his wife Jaclyn and three children: son Jagger, 11; daughter Milan, 3 1/2; and new son Daniel, who was born on July 4. Stapp plans to take Jagger on the road with him, but the rest of the family will stay behind initially.

I tell you its going to be hard to leave the two ladies that are the loves of my life, he said of his wife and daughter. (Jaclyn) will come out as much as she can, and as soon as we get clearance from the doctors, Daniel will be there, too. We like to do things as a family, and its just awesome we can do

Its a Fourth of July baby!

Scott Stapp and wife Jaclyn welcomed son Daniel Issam Stapp at 3:01 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, the Creed frontman has announced via Twitter.

It is such a true blessing to be a father and husband, Stapp, 36, writes. Again, I am reminded of how deeply I love, how deeply I respect, how deeply I admire and how deeply I appreciate my best friend, my only love, my wife Jaclyn.

The couple are also parents to daughter Miln Hayat, 3, and son Jagger, 11. The Stapps announced the pregnancy in December, sharing the sex of the baby and the name they had chosen in February.

SKILLET has just been confirmed as a special guest for select dates on CREEDs 20-10 Tour dates (specific Skillet dates listed below in full tour schedule).

The 20 -10 Tour kicks off on July 28th in Washington D.C., and was named because the first 2,010 reserved seats are $20 all-in. This means fans pay a flat rate with no added service charges, and the remaining seats will be priced at $20 or $10, plus applicable ticketing fees. A full itinerary and lineup can be found below.

Following their long-awaited Full Circle 2009 reunion tour, Creed announces "The 20-10 Tour," to stand up against rising concert costs with tickets specially priced at $20 and $10. The first 2,010 reserved seats are $20 all-in, meaning fans pay a flat rate with no added service charges. The remaining seats will be priced at either $20 or $10, plus applicable ticketing fees. "The 20-10 Tour" kicks off on July 28th in Washington D.C. at Jiffy Lube Live, and continues nationally through September 4th at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston, but fans can get an early taste when Creed appears on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday, April 23rd.

"The 20-10 Tour" will feature new songs such as "Rain," "Overcome" and "A Thousand Faces" from Full Circle, the band's 2009 release and first new album in eight years, as well as hits such as "Higher," "My Sacrifice," "With Arms Wide Open," "One" and "What's This Life For." Creed to play May 20 at Amphitheatre

Tallahassee rock band Creed sold an estimated 35 million records worldwide in the late '90s and early 2000s, and then disbanded in 2004.

Members got back together in 2009 to release a new album and go on tour. That tours stops in St. Augustine on May 20 at the Amphitheatre.

In 1994, friends Scott Stapp (lead vocals) and Mark Tremonti (lead guitar and bass guitar), students at Florida State University, formed the band. Scott Phillips came on in 1995 to play the drums, percussion and keyboards; Brian Marshall joined the same year, playing bass guitar; and Eric Friedman came on last year to play the rhythm guitar and perform backup vocals.

Creed won a Grammy Award for "With Arms Wide Open" in 2001 as Best Rock Song. The band's first three studio albums, "My Own Prison," "Human Clay" and "Weather," all went multi-platinum in the U.S. The band's new album, released in 2009, is "Full Circle."

Many songs have been featured in movie and TV soundtracks, and the band also collaborated with World Wrestling Entertainment, allowing songs to be used in promotions.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, either at the Amphitheatre box office or online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $26.50, $36.50 and $55.50.

Original Creed Line-Up Plan Summer Tour & New Album

Creed, one of the most successful rock bands of the past decade, has announced all four of the original band members are back together for a summer tour and new album. Since their formation, Creed has sold close to thirty-five million albums and millions of concert tickets.

The songwriting team of Stapp and Tremonti are considered one of the most prolific in rock history. Their collaborations delivered numerous chart-topping records that are a testament to the enormity and success of Creed. The band was the first act to have seven consecutive number one rock radio singles, four of which came off of the debut album. Their third album, Weathered, tied The Beatles Anthology, for the most consecutive weeks at Number One on Billboards Top 200 chart (eight weeks since the beginning of the SoundScan era (1991).

The bands debut, My Own Prison, was released on August 26, 1997 and has sold over six million copies in the U.S. The follow-up, Human Clay, was distributed on September 28, 1999 and certified Diamond for sales in excess of 11 million copies. The bands last studio album, Weathered, was released on November 20, 2001 and sold six million plus. In November 2004, Creed Greatest Hits was released, and has sold two million copies. The band was voted Favorite Group in 2003 on the Peoples Choice Awards and won numerous American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and others including the Grammy Award for best Rock Song in 2001 for "With Arms Wide Open."

On reuniting, guitarist Mark Tremonti stated, "We're all very excited to reconnect with our fans and each other after six long years." Drummer Scott Phillips added, "Our career as Creed came to a very abrupt and unforeseen ending. After reflecting on some of the greatest personal and professional moments of our lives, we've come to realize that we are still very capable of continuing that career and our friendship on a grander scale than ever before." Bassist Brian Marshall continues, "This is a development we are all happy about. It has been a long time since the four of us have taken the stage together, and without hesitation or reservation this is something all of us are in to. The anticipation to get back out there is electrifying. Singer Scott Stapp concluded, "Its amazing how life can change and bring you full circle. Time gave us all a chance to reflect, grow and gain a deeper appreciation of our friendships, artistic chemistry, passion for music, and sincere love for our fans!
